*I have a 1971 Datsun 240z with the conversion of a Oldsmobile 403 engine rocket in it.

**The exterior of the car is still in good shape and the interior is not too bad at all.

***A very sweet car.

****It also has the McCoy Magnesuim rims (all four rims).

speedo doesnt work, windshield wipers are burnt out, some bondo on the car (havent seen it), The guy got it from a friend that owned him money and he doesnt know too much about it. He is selling it for 2k OBO.

What should i look for, and is it worth it. He says the body is clean, but the bondo is noticeable. I just want something for a daily beater until my buddies shop opens up, then i will build my 240sx into my primary ride.

I dont think this car will save me any money on gas :)

I would certainly go look at it. If it is in decent shape, it may be a great buy. Check to see if everything works. Windshield wipers not working could be a fuse...or it could be a major short...or....

Rust is the main issue with the cars--check the frame rails & poke at them with an awl or icepick. Make sure the car does not have a salvage title, otherwise it is worth even less.

thanks. Ill check it out, and take some pics. Im kinda shying off of it because of the engine choice, seems like no one really likes the 403

Edelbrock makes performer rpm performance parts for the 350-403 397 hp in the 350 with rpm kit and high compression. The 403 rods are forged and should be good to 6000 rpm. edelbrock 455 heads fits with rpm intake but needs high compression pistons. I think people hates it because it only has 185 hp stock and its not a chevy
