T-56 and Flywheel?

Recommended Posts

Guest Anonymous

Which SBC before the one piece rear main or after? Its been a year or more but Centerforce had the monopoly on the flywheel to fit the early SBC with a T56. I bought one at 265.00 but its not a real lightweight deal. Blkmgk has one too, he can probably confirm, but it was pretty heavy as I recall. It is a SFI piece, but it wasn't super cheap, wish I could have afforded they're clutch and disk too, but damn... 500.00...

Regards,

Yup, Centerforce SFI piece here too - HEAVY! Note that my block is a "one piece seal" block but that the damned stroker crank still took the old style flywheel! So much for using the LT1 flywheel on my garage floor :( Probably better to have the SFI piece anyway. (sigh)

So far as I know only Centerforce is making these conversion flywheels...

I have an SBC 377, with a 350 crank. I am going to be getting a T-56. I was starting to look at

lightened flywheels, but there are 2 different sizes...???? Which is the right one? Does it matter?

Also since I am asking about flywheels, is there a quality difference with the different brands?

Anyone know of any good deals? Thanks alot!!!!
