Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
well, i'm pickin up my first Z The only problem it has is that the breather lines for the fuel tank etc leak fumes. The guy said that there is a pretty easy-to-follow procedure for eliminating the need for these lines and that part of the system (as I figured there would be). Does anyone here know this procedure? (If not I am sure I will be doing a writeup of my own procedure within the next couple weeks) Car: 1970 240Z
Guest rick458
I replaced all of mine last week when I redid my tank took a lot of hose and a fair amount of time
Guest 240hybrid
http://www.mcmaster.com sell the fuel hoses in the proper diameters to replace them. As for getting rid of some of them, I would think the only ones you need is the one on the very top of the tank to the vent tank, and the one that Makes a "U" from the filler hose to the vent tank. I would pinch the others shut and weld them up for 100% seal. Someone else here on this board got rid of all the vent lines except for one. Maybe he'll put his $.02 in on how it worked out and if there are any unwanted side affects of getting rid of the extra vents.
Guest Nic-Rebel450CA
I was thinking it might be possible to remove all of the lines and the vapor bottle and place a breather cap on the filler neck instead. (of course, I found that there is one line that goes from near the top of the tank to the filler neck to let air out of the tank while the tank is being filled so that one would need to stay unless I can teach my gas tank how to burp)
Guest 240hybrid
The gas tank burp is why I would keep the one line on the top of the tank and the one on the filler hose. I could be wrong, but if you keep these 2 you shouldnt have any problems with filling her up.
