Guest 280Tom'z
Hey my people i'm new to this fourm mainly because all the names i could think of were gone. but i have a pretty extensive knowlage about cars so if you have questions i'll be glad to help. but i was wondering how much weight will a 350(383) and a T-56 add to my 76' 280. because i'm going to cut the springs (not enough $$$ for coilovers) and i need to know the weight to put in my car so it will sit right when i'm done i want a lower fatter look. great to be here and thanks! Guest Fast Frog
I've got a 383 in my 76 280Z. If you lose the heavy ugly bumpers and brackets, use alloy whls, alum hds and manifold and carry no spare tire or jack; you should weigh in at around 2650lbs curb wt like mine. With alum water pump and alum radiator, another 20lbs or so less. However, since you're going to use a T-56, add back 40lbs or so. I use a WC-T5 which is smaller and lighter! Guest timhypo
You can afford a 383 and a t56, but not coilovers? You must be getting a hell of a deal...
Modern Motorsports Ltd
Welcome Why not cut your springs once you've completed the other work? Strut re and re does not take long so why not wait? It will depend on where you place several components/battery etc and how many weight saving efforts you make....rad/batt/intake/heads/water pump/headers/heads/ etc...
