2Forty
I am wondering if anyone has fabricated mounts that would bolt directly to the frame in the set back position. I'm not sure if the frame could handle the stress, maybe that's why it's never been tried?
Guest cbrunberg
Hey 2 Forty, I have! I installed my sbc using a motor plate. It bolts between the waterpump and the block, it attaches at the frame with urethane bushings mounted horizonaly between 2 clips welded directly to the frame. It's been in there about 6 months now. I don't drive it alot yet (more work to be done on the car) but it seems to work well. Everyone told me it would have too much vibration but that's not been the case. I don't have a photo yet but when I do I'll post it. I need to find a cheap digital camera I can afford or get a polaroid to scan. The best thing about this set up is it sets on the frame and can slide forward and back until you have everything else where you want it. Also the side of your motor is free of things to plumb the exhuast around. Carl
