Guest Craig280z
I have been looking at the JTR manual and I'm not exactly sure why they have you move the VSS to the govenor area on the transmission housing. I am assuming that the 4L60E uses the VSS for computer information and also the speedometer and that my 78 280z will need a speedometer cable added and it would be added where the VSS originally was installed. Is this correct? Is this the way that it is normally done or can you get a speedometer that will take the signal from the computer? You guys are going to get tired of my questions because I have a bunch of them. I'm trying to spread them out a little bit and not bombard the forum all in the same day Thanks a bunch! Guest Anonymous
Autometer makes a speedo that will work off the stock GM vss. It is a bit pricy though. Mark
Guest Craig280z
Hi Mark, Thanks for the reply. Am I correct in my assumption that the LT1 does not use the speedo cable for the speedo which is why JTR is having me relocate the VSS so I have a place to mount a speedo cable and a reason to buy their $90 reluctor ring? Thanks Craig
