azguy
I currently am in the process of finding a worthy LT1 and T56 for my 72 240Z. After the 72, I want to do a LT1 and T56 swap in my 83 280ZX Turbo, but have a question for the mounts. I know the JTR is made for the first generation Z, will it still work on the 83? Maybe the MSA mounts? Anyone made the LT1 swap on a 83 Turbo.... one good thing about the 83 is the r200 diff.... whew!no rear end work on it. Guest greimann
The JTR setback will not work with the '79 - '83 models. You have to go straight to the crossmember, which simplifies motor mount fabrication. Not sure about the LT1 question, I'm running a '79 350. Guest super280z
says who?? i just finished putting mine in. it went but was a serious PITA. just count on bringing a fairly large hammuh and fabbing a tranny mount. the mounts will work but if you plan on using the LT1, get a hold of march for a new pullie setup. good luck
