Guest Shiin
I have what I believe was sold to me is a 5 spd tranny. I pulled the 4 spd out of my 240z finally and set it on the ground. Now the problem is that my father had the bright idea of sticking the new clutch and throw out bearing into the 5 spd and place it in the car. Problem is that he used the throw-out bearing sleeve for the 4 spd but a new bearing. So i have the 5 spd throw out bearing out and not in the 5spd. Would that throw-out bearing and sleeve from the 4 spd prevent the new 5 spd from going into the 5th gear. Or was I dooped into buying a 4spd was advertised as a 5 spd. Thanks Jesse
Drax240z
You should be able to shift the car into 5th gear in the driveway without the engine running. The TO bearing won't prevent this... sounds like you were duped.
Guest Shiin
I never checked it, but now it's bolted to the engine with the new clutch, We even had to us the shifter off the 4spd to complete it. Look like I was screwed.
