But on the drives side , the lock nut is frozen, to remove from the steering rack. The passenger side was no problem. Any ideas how i could losen the lock nut on the tierod. Used wrench, visegrips , pipe wrench. now the nut is all chewed up. Any ideas would be helpful
CruxGNZ
I did mine and I still forget, but one side is right-hand threaded and the other is left-hand threaded. In other words one comes off clockwise and the other comes off counter clockwise. !M!

HIWAY ONE
Use lots of liquid wrench and a propane torch. That's been my formula for a good part of the front suspension. Terry
Guest 1z2c
The drivers side is counter clockwise on the tie-rod. Went out side after work and turned the tie-rod lock nut counter clockwise and it came right off, after tighting the heck out of it for 6 hours. Thanks for the info on the wd-40 and a torch HIWAY ONE . Sure would be nice if the hanes manual stated this in its book. Now for the new tie-rods and rack bushings! Thanks for everybodys help.
