Guest EnthuZiast
Well, I'm going to attemt replacing my clutch myself. This is something that I have never done before and I'm posting this to see what experiences you guys had with this routine project. Do you guys have any words of wisdom or anything along those lines? My car is a 79 280ZX, by the way. Thanks
Guest greimann
Put the car up on 4 good quality jack stands as high as they will go. Make absolutely sure it is stable. Follow the instructions in the service manual and be sure to use an alignment tool when installing the new disk and clutch. Might also be helpful to make sure you can do the "Tranny full body press". Practice when the transmission is out. Put the transmission on your chest, hands on the bell housing and feet on the tailshaft. Swearing is optional, but it helps
