Guest Pegasus76
I have a 1976 Datsun 280Z with a 73 camaro 350 and a 85 camaro t-5...I recently replaced the clutch with the stock T-5 clutch and it is already starting to slip. But that was only temporarily...Now I am looking for a good performance clutch for my Datsun. Would a Centerforce II be a good suggestion? Heavy Z
I've heard mixed reviews on the centerforce, but the McLeod I have in my T5 (also an '85) has worked great with no problems after a year of daily driving pushed by a 400 or so hp V8. Mine is the street/strip model w/ an 11" disk.
Guest Pegasus76
how much did it run you?
Guest thtdmbd8
Try a Spec clutch. They have several different levels of clutches. My buddy has one on his 1998 Z28 and the car is totally awesome. They make the clutches for a lot of different applications. They are guaranteed not to slip. Just tell them what you plan to do with the car as far as power and such and they will set you up. My buddy has a Stage III. He got the disk, pressure plate, and new hydraulic throwout bearing and it was around $520. Of course that is for the LS1/6 speed, so yours may be a little cheeper. Good Luck. http://www.speclutches.com
Heavy Z
I only needed a disk because I blew an input shaft seal on the tranny and soaked the clutch, it ran me $100. The previous owner put the unit in so I'm not sure about the total price. It also uses a special t/o bearing from McLeod, although mine's not hydraulic. If you want a hydraulic t/o, do a search or talk to Greimann as he's done it in a Z and there's some stuff you need to know that'll make it easier for you. You can get more info on McLeod products at 714-630-3668.
