i know i posted this twise but i think my ? is best asked on the Chevy V8Z Tech Board. I have a 82 max and I was wondering if someone could tell me how I could do a v8 convertion on my car. I have seen it done. p.s could use a 280z convertion kit sense the 1st gen max is basicly (spelling) a 4 door 280z

Welsome Dean! You may have to keep posting since A V8 in an early Maxima may take beating the bushes to flush an expert.

Although I have not done it, I would think you could use the JTR set-up and go from there. I would be very careful and measure the engine bay first to see if there is a possibility of interference anywhere. Funny thing is, I can't think of any since the engine is the same L6, correct? That would be one heck of a sleeper--surprise the heck out of Mustangs and even a lazy Vette or two! :D

Make sure you compare the distance from the engine mounts to the fire wall with those of a early z. If it is shorter then JTR wont work. However, you may be able to make it work just using the spacers. Failing that, check out the set up on a 280zx.

Good luck,

Douglas
