Guest livedrive
I'm buying a '73 model 240Z. It has been modified and now has a Chevy small block 383 with about 450 hp. My question is this... I live in Atlanta and it is really freakin hot. The car currently has no A/C in it, and I'd like to investigate getting A/C added after I purchase the car. Does anyone have any similar experience or any info that could be helpful in evaluating whether or not this is likely to be possible? The seems to be a fair amount of room still in the engine bay, but I honestly couldn't tell you if it is enough.
Mike kZ
I added a Vintage Air unit on mine. It cools really well, go to vintageair.com Where in Atlanta are you from?
Guest Aaron
Others will chime in, but I think most have used the AC components from a later Z (280?) to put AC in the earlier models. You could fabricate a bracket to use the Datsun compressor on the Chevy engine, or you could use a Chevy compressor and have lines made to connect it to the rest of the Datsun system.
