Guest Iceickle
Ok ive been looking around, but i cant find out exactly what the stock air filter is on a 1976 260Z (im in Australia). The reason for this is that i just got my car back from a carb specialist today, and he tells me the small round filters (two seperate ones, one on each carb) are not supposed to be there, instead there should be one single long unit. So i take a look in my Hayne's manual, and sure enough there it is, but does this have any special name or anything? I couldnt find the part (but i could find the actual filter bit) in my Victoria British catalogue, or Motorsport Auto. Does anyone have any clue if this is the right filter i need? And where could i obtain one, thanks for your help.
TomoHawk
I bet you could adapt one from a V8 with dual carbs, or get a long one from a custom store. You would probably need to fabricate a (bottom) plate to fit your engine & filter. Otherwise, maybe get one off the many parts cars featured on this site. cheers,
spotfitz
http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Pit/8344/z-engine.jpg Copy/Paste this and see if this is what you have. If it is then the ones you say in the vic brit and MSA catelogs is what you need for the housings you have. If you need to get an original air filter housing then check ebay to find one for your particular carbs.
Guest Iceickle
Ok i see the MSA air filters you have on there, the ones on my carbs arnt the same, but the setup is. What i need is a single long unit, so ill try and get one from a dealer in Sydney (shipping this part from the USA wouldnt be very economical, shipping costs too much)
