Guest Z-rific
I'm posting here because the "Fuel Delivery" forum looks to be mostly L6 fuel system info. I just added a fuel pressure guage in front of my Q-jet and it's reading 8 psi. I know this is a little high, as I believe Q-jets work fine with 3 to 6 psi. But is it too high? Should I add a regulator in and drop it down to 5 or 6?
Guest zfan
I have not owned a Q-Jet in awhile but it seemed to me 6-7 lbs was max. I could be wrong, I am more familiar with Holley and they are good to 7 lbs after that it can be iffy. Mike
Guest zbot43
I would recommend putting the fuel pressure regulator in, and setting it for no more than 6psi. You should be able to get away with 6 psi though. If this is in a Z and not an offroad vehicle that should do just fine. The needle and seat set up can't handle much more than that, and offroad forget about it.
