Guest Perry
280Z with 350 chevy running carb. I have the 280Z fuel pump feeding the stock regulator under the hood then feeding a non return holley regulator near the carb. i modified the stock fuel pump for lower pressure cause it was force feeding the holley regulator and increasing pressure at the carb. anyway, after some run time to move the car around etc.. I noticed the oil is very thin and I think it is gasoline. My theory is the stock FP setup holds pressure on the carb after shutdown and fuel eventually bleeds into the engine and runs past the rings into the crankcase. anyone else had this issue and how did you fix it? I am going to remove the spring diaphram device that helps maintain pressure after shutdown on the stock system, but I think there will still be some pressure there. I could run a solenoid pressure shunt that is connected to the ignition or something like that but I'm trying to come up with a more elegant solution. Just wondering if this is a common issue or not.
