Guest Anonymous
i have the 5 lug rear axles from Ross but i havent installed them yet b/c im not sure if i should have them balanced. I spoke with Ross and he said it wasnt necessary but i figured id ask if anyone else has tried to get them balanced as i figured an unbalanced stub axle might lead to premature bearing wear and failure. I dropped my axles off at the performance shop last week and it turned out he couldnt balance the axles on the crank balancer but he suggested trying a driveshaft shop. thanks, JeffO
Dan Juday
I seriously doubt you, or your wheel bearing, will notice any difference. The distance from the three empty holes to the center of rotation and the rpms we're taking about make it pretty much negligible. I would think a chunk of gravel stuck in the treads would produce more vibration than any imbalance in the stub axle.
Guest Perry
I agree, don't worry about it.
silicone boy
I had Ross do a set of stub axles for me. Before I pulled my motor for my rebuild, they did fine.
