Add some performance heads, camshaft, exhaust improvement and maybe a compression bump and you will be in the low 13's, high 12's.

There is something wrong with that. If you have a completely stock 350 Chevy from the mid to late smog laden 1970s, then the HP is spot on. That's exactly how much HP you have. What is strange is that the torque should be enough to push you higher than that. Is your car really traction limited? What is the tranny?

If you have a nominal 8:1 compression motor (or worse), then a swap to some better heads with a smaller combustion chamber like 64cc, 70cc, or even 72cc will be a lot better than the 76cc smog heads you are probably running right now. That alone will boost your compression to a decent 9:1 to 10:1. Stab in a decent cam with aluminum intake and 600cfm carb, you are ready to rock!

If I have guessed wrong on your motor, let us know. If you already have all these things in your engine, then you have tuning issues, or something. Talk to me.

Yeah, I have a completely stock crate motor with the (yuck) TPI intake. Only two really good things are the SLP runners and the Holley computer setup.

Don't worry about my low compression....that is actually a good thing. There is a ( ) turbo sitting in the garage waiting to be installed. smile.gif

Yes, I am documenting the install.
