Guest tom sixbey
i've just finished swapping out the entire 280zx underbody with the exception of the transmission. - if anyone has any questions here, i might be able to help. here's a list of what was done: -poly bushings, bump stops and steering coupler -tokico HP struts and matching springs (1.5" drop) -brake calipers completely rebuilt and coated -powerstop cross drilled rotors -metal master metallic pads -completely restored and recoated suspension components , steering parts and crossmembers -280zx turbo CV axle upgrade -300zx R200 swap -new brake master cylinder -stainless braided brake hoses -silicone based DOT 5 brake fluid -new bearings and seals all around -rebuilt steering rack and new tie rods/ball joints WHEW! - i thinks thats it, but looking back at it all, i cant be totally sure. Because of some poor machine shop service quality issues and major component damage (all original components rusted together!) it took me almost 5 months to complete this work. I cannot believe the difference that all of this made! I had to relearn how to drive the car because of all of this, and quite frankly, i've never driven any car that handled like this one - and i'd be lying if i said it wasn't just a little bit intimidating. anyways, i've driven 300 miles on this stuff and it feels pretty good. VERY quick steering response. let me know if i can answer any questions about all of this mess!
