HELP! Stereo installers broke climate lighting?

Hi. I've a 83 280ZXT which I took to Tweeter stereo in Framingham, MA, and the management there couldn't care less about doing their jobs, only counting cars like dollar signs going in and out like a car wash. Really suggest avoiding them, but the point is, they pulled out the radio binnacle in the process of putting in subwoofer and CD changer wiring, but they didn't give a hoot when I told them they'd knocked out my climate control (as well as giving me the car with the battery drained to hell, no signals, etc). I have already been back once, and they glossed over my complaint that the automatic climate control back panel is no longer illuminated. Their latest excuse is, "oh its an old car and its probably a bulb, which we wouldn't have or be able to get"..this after their telling me they fixed it!

I was wondering where any such bulb to illuminate the back panel is located. Seems to me that fibre optics were used even in the 80's, but it must have a source somewhere. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE BULB NUMBER, b/c I looked in my 280ZX shop manual and there's not much info on it. I would also like to know if indeed there's something I can tweak without disassembling too much, a connector or the like, to save myself the aggravation of taking it back to a shop that couldn't care less, but for my complaints to the manager of the store, and now the regional manager.

At least the stereo sounds good, but why are so many car stereo shops so full of SH$%^& in the extreme?

No, most people read all the forums, and the moderators handle all forums. I don't know if you know this, but if you go to the page that lists all the forums, at the top right is "View posts since last visit" Click on that and it shows all the last posts.
