While christmas shopping at walmart and I'll be darned if I didn't come across a revell model kit for the 240Z.. Now I haven't built one of those since I was about 12 or 13.. sounds like this might be fun...

funny thing is.. I had never even considered there might be a model of a Z out there..DUH!

It might even be a tad useful in deciding which, if any, body dress-up mods I've been trying to visualize in my mind..

ahh either way it is becoming a fun little tinker project..

Damm I really like those! I even went so far as to buy a few things for mine such as different paints for the interior, underside, etc..

I wonder if that's close to scale with the viper engine in it... looks to be close if it's not quite..

I really can't do much with my real Z right now with the crap weather and limited space I have to work in..

lol that viper model motor SO did not fit in the Z model... i had to cut away from the trany tunnel and also under the hood.. it was cool though.. makes me want a real one like that :D

i built the blue one 1st and built it because my Z was on its way to me from cali :) that week waiting for it was a KILLER!

:)

best of luck with both your Z's model and real!

Hey thank you!

I have a 66 small journal 327 going through a prolonged refreshing...

But I need to finnish a little frame stiffening mods first.. kind of a 3-5 year project.. Sometimes I want it done RIGHT NOW.. you know the feeling... other times I so dam happy I'm taking my time, mostly due to funding..

But I never had a real 'hotrod' as so to speak, though my old 69 coronet with the 440 in it was not bad.. Should have NEVER gotten rid of that car! "Oh the stupid things we do when younger"! lol. Well, at least the new owner did turn it into a show car, literally.. with a 6-pack and all..

I like the Z better... a smaller car..power to weight potential, good looks, etc..My coronet I rode in... but my Z 'fits like an Italian suit'.. I love that feeling!

Thats about how long I drove mine when I first got it as well. and it was barely running then.. but hey, for 500.00 it was in fantastic shape! dam near rust free...except a few spots on the rear wheel arches.... the underside is dam near perfect! but after driving it for about a week I put it into the shop to at least get it running decently so that I could drive it until all my hybridization materials were at hand and ready.. was in the shop for over 3 months, because the mechanic was so busy but cutting me a deal with it..

been driving it ever since and probably will until late summer or early winter when the motor is done and the new full lengthframe rails are ready and the body mods... then it gets ripped all the way down..

I'm not building what most would say is a killer 327, but I got it free from a friend.. so Im using the saved money from that towards good edelbrock RPM aluminum heads , intake, waterpump.. keeping it lightweight.. not going with a super lift cam either, but quite healthy just the same(erson brute 214/224- .443/.465 @.050) and probably a 670-700carb-(could go bigger but worried about throttle response on the low end)..

I'm shooting for about 320-350 HP. and going with a slightly beefed up 200r4 transmission.

It should still knock a late camaro out of the running quite easily when it's done. and still be a mild mannered daily driver. I'm matching everything together, to work extremely well together in the same power ranges, as if made for each other.. so I end up with the most power from the least agressive mods(cam)

And good luck with yours as well! :-D
