Mack
so, I was thinking about making a 3.0L with the deisel rods and am wondering if I can put a 4mm offset bushing in the con rod small end. cause if I use a 300zx piston that has a 21mm pin, and the deisel has a 25mm pin, offset the con rod by 4mm on top, then the 300 piston would be effectively 4mm shorter.... it'd work, i think...... beefy rods plus 300zx turbo pistons should be fun for some boooooost. Guest joel greenwood
i thought about using diesel rods once but couldn't get my mind around the weight of them. they would be hard to balance and hard on rod bolts. having ran 32psi on 9.0cr i manged to break everything exept the rods and crank. however the offset bushing would allow you to get a correct compression height. providing you dont over rev it they would be bullet proof. my current one is efi na with diesel crank, 240 rods vg30 na pistons . the only problem is the pistons are 1mm down the bore .look forward to hearing how it goes.
