Mounting Wastegate Actuator

hey,

Almost got my engine back together, going the the exhaust shop tommarrow to have a new flange welded on to the downpipe.

Got one more thing to do before the turbo is all ready: need to mount the wastegate actuator. Any tips on doing this? It is a dual port adjustable type. i guess my main question is how to tell how close it needs to be, becasue with the adjustable pushrod should it be mounted where it is tight fully extended, halfway in?

This is a really good question I found while doing some searching. Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm still searching.

I normally mount them so the there is a little tension on the rod when the flapper is fully closed. So to fit it you need to pull the rod out slightly.

I'm guessing if you back the adjustment all the way off then install it like that it would be fine, you can't really adjust it for less boost than it being fully wound out?

Thanks, I have a dual port turbonetics actuator and I going to try to set it up that way. Running an electronic boost controller with an internal wastegated t3/t4 turbo. At this point I think I'm going to run vacuum lines to it as if it was an external wastegate.
