Guest 240zxt
Has anyone here bought a Cage from Chris Alston's Chassisworks?http://www.cachassisworks.com/ I was looking into their 10 point cage and it looked like a pretty good deal. One question I had was about the bar that goes from the left side of the car to the right side that's right underneath the front windsheild(or at least it looks like). My questions is: How would you install this with that bar? It looks like it would go threw the dash. Is there a way that you could just not install this one bar? Or do you have to? What would be involed if you had to install it? Cutting part of the dash away?
Moridin
I'd take the 10 point with some removable/swing-out side bars. Pretty awesome for the price.
katman
No main hoop diagonal? You get what you pay for. For a street car this adds a bunch of weight up high and gives you some nice pipes to bang your head on. For road racing these cages would not meet the safety requirements of real sanctioning bodies. I think somebody before has mentioned they are NHRA legal, so if the track where you DRAG race requires it you're good. Do you need that bar that goes through the dash? Well that depends on what it is you want with a cage in the first place.
