ecp48
Has any one heard that you have to remove the electronics out of the turbo Air Flow Meter and reinstall the Naturally Aspirated electronics for the unit to work appropriately on the NA L6. I was just hit with this and was not aware that the electronics were different. Please comment. ecp48/Ed Palmer Athens, GA
v8dats
im pretty sure they are different and the connector is different.....people usually do this swap because the inlet/outlet on the turbo one is slightly larger than the n/a
preith
There was a guy I talked to years ago, Rob Sime, who was swapping out the electronics with the earlier years and selling them. He had one on his own car and said it helped. I've talked with others since and they said the results are marginal at best. I wonder if one would be better off going with a completely retrofitted 300ZX system with the hot wire AMS, or an aftermarket FI using a MAS. Bluto
I tried hooking one of my turbo afms up to my NA motor (expecting it to work just fine, riiight.) and it would start and run for about 10 seconds.. either at idle or wot. the connectors are the same and im thinking if you bridged(or maybe disconnected) the wires that are for the fuel pump circut you might be just dandy.. havent gotten around to trying it yet(spent the last few hours hunting a dead short, nope havent found it yet.. who needs marker/tailights anyway?) but it might work out.. who knows
