Guest timhypo
You'll need to use 'block-hugger' type headers normally used for street-rod guys due to their tight engine-bays. A turbo on a small-block is alot of work and unless you're really interested in turbos (which I'm guessing not from your questions) not a good investment since a small-block chevy can be built with oodles of horsepower and torque normally asperated and reliable. If you really wanna turbo, you can buy a kit for a few thousand dollars or you can piecemeal one from junkyard parts, but you'll spend ALOT of time getting it running good. Swapping over to a manual will require you to replace your Z-car automatic pedalbox (no clutch pedal) with one from a stick, which is a real pain in the butt from what I've read. After that, you need to pull the whole engine/tranny combo and replace you tranny with a T5/five-speed from a camaro ($500-1000) or a t56/six-speed froma later camaro and do all the necessary stuff to make the clutch work. Then you'll havbe to pray your driveshaft fits right. If you're new to working on cars, this is also a heck of a project. Use the search engine built into this message board also, people get sick of answering the same questions over and over.
DavyZ
Welcome to the board! You have to determine if you have a "scarab" kit or a 'JTR' type of kit. That is the only way you'll find out what will fit in the car. Use the search function on the forum, or post some pictures, or email some of the guys who have V8's to get an idea. You must do that before buying anything. Be advised that "Block Hugger" headers will NOT work for a scarab-type of setup. Davy
