Mack
o.k. so I picked up a KILLER deal on an RB25DE N/A. we'll just say under $500. its a long block with most sensors, intake and exhaust. no wiring ECU or any of the likes. has all coil packs tho., only thing it is missing is the coil pack cover and the throttle body is damaged. thing I want to know is.... what transmission options are there if I dont want to use/source an RB tranny? I have heard rumors of a VG transmission working. also, any stock mounts I can use without getting the 200zr mounts? like, perhaps NAPS Z series motor mounts? since it is basically an L motor, without the offset, just a thought.... this will more than likely end up under the hood of a 280zx. for the computer and wiring..... I have it from a good source that the RB25DE shares 99.9% of its pinouts with a 1992 to 1994 maxima SE VE30DE. there just so happens to be one in a local salvage yard. thats all I can think of for now.... McAdam p.s. so, an RB25DE N/A will take a turbo manifold and turbo abuse? I read the sticky. didn't cover much in the way of RB25DE NA/s, lol it did however, list that someone threw a turbo manifold on an N/A and laid down 4430rwhp for over a year before he melted a piston...... Guest Zachb55
it did however, list that someone threw a turbo manifold on an N/A and laid down 4430rwhp for over a year before he melted a piston...... wow, 4430 eh? thats definately going to melt a piston. Anyways. I think you easiest options are to source an RB tranny. or make a custom mounting plate... or better yet, full custom sequential 6 speed... that would haul, and maybe be able to handle that massive HP Good luck with you search, scanning these forums will likely get you more accurate info then i can remember. -Zach
