naplesZ
My mechanic just told me that my head can't be fixed. I've done a search and it seems that a n42 will be best for me. my car is stock and probably going to stay that way for a wile. Is this right way to go and does anybody know where to get one. I'm going to check eBay next. I would like to find one today since I'm going out of town for a week and would like to order one before I leave. Thanks
Guest ZofDoom
Well it just so happens that I too am putting on another head. I have a N42 head that needs a rebuild so I'm going to find another N42 from a 75-76 280 motor and have it rebuilt for me I am also going to port match to the gaskets. This is a very good stock setup, and it won't break your bank or the motor like a E31 head can (high compression) I talked to several people and this is the way to go for a stock motor. The rebuild and porting with a high comp head gasket will actually yield a HP increase too! Not a bunch but hey any is better right, and don't forget to replace all those foweled plugs.
