Guest polarity
well, I bought my 350 now. Dont know too much about it yet. I have high hopes though, and a friend who is going to let me hold it in his garage for now and help me rebuild it (also if price permits (got to call summit racing) I will be making it a 383 stroker. I'm sure it seems like a very small step to most but to me, this is very exciting.. Anyway my reason for posting is, has anyone had a motor shipped? Who did you use? thanks Billy
Guest Russ240z
Glad you're underway! Word of advice, these projects take a long time. Don't jeopardize a friendship by over staying your welcome. When the motor arrives you will need a hoist and engine stand. You don't want that baby rolling over on you (or the dog)! Good luck.
Guest polarity
I'm lucky enough to have a good friend. I'm buying a stand and he said it can sit there for a bit (while I get my garage) and in return for his help and space I'm giving him the motor/trans out of my 280ZX. Man i'm looking at paying more in shipping than I did for the motor.. ouch
Guest Anonymous
Not to bag on summit they have some good stuff but wtch out for the prices. If u shop around u will get a better price on most stuff than from summit.
Guest polarity
Well, the guy never contacted me. So I've given up on him, and went another route. Found a vortec 350 out of a 97 truck (shortblock) for $150. Now its back to looking at those stroker kits, man $1099.99 for a kit is not looking good.. maybe find a better deal.. or ask you guys how to pump more out of the 350 then go to 383 later Billy
