I posted this once put don't see it now. I put a T-5 from a 280zx turbo in my 71 240z today. The driveshaft was one inch to long. I had it shorten and balanced for 69. The trans mounting bracket is different. With stock bracket it's about one inch to far back. I drilled a thick piece of flat metal with two holes. I used a big nut or spacer then new piece and bolt it up. Now the trans bracket will line up with new piece. Used a bolt and nut to hold bracket to new piece. I used one washer under trans mount to get driveshaft straight. Worked great! Banged on it through the gears and no wierd noises and no vibrations at 75 mph. I will be getting a new shfter soon 5.0 pro shifter so I can put the center piece back in. I hope this helps someone.
