My carpet ('78 280) is in super shape, just faded to that red/brown color from the original black. Is there a good carpet dye out there. SpeedRacer Posted April 11, 2004 Share Posted April 11, 2004 Here's an old trick from the used car reconditioning guys. Pick up some RIT dye in black (powder or liquid). Walmart and hardware stores usually carry it. Add all of it to a bucket of warm water along with a good carpet shampoo. Get yourself a good stiff brush and (wearing gloves!!!!) scrub the carpet really well. Let it dry and it will look like new again. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
