Tach Resistor Location?

Ive been searching my wiring trying to tie up some loose ends and there are still lots of them. my lack of experience with these cars is whats holding me back currently, so i need some help that i think you folks will be able to offer. First of all, what is a fusible link? where on my car should it be in a 240Z? if i have an L28 swapped in (SUs) would this change whether i have one or not? cause i cant find one in my car... Secondly; I could really use your help to track down something. In my Haynes manual, on the wiring diagram on pg. 169 (which i assume i should use for a '72 240Z) i trace the black-white wire from the tach to the pos. side of the coil, which i have confirmed it does go (and nothing else goes to the positive side) and then the green-white wire goes to the ignition swith, but prior to the connection with the ignition there is a splice off to a resistor which then splices into another black-white wire. where is this resistor located? i can not, for the life of me, find this thing. :? is there a way i can just test it if no one knows how to get to it? like with a volt-meter tester dealy? well i hope that you can use my babble to help me out. thanks,
