Guest timhypo
That car's on ebay and already been discussed in another thread. Do a search on 'ebay' in all forums and you should be able to find it. You might wanna check the 'For Sale' forum here first, it might be near the top. Guest Taedium
This was the info I found on it on ebay, Chevrolet 350 engine with less than 20k miles, Competition Cams High Energy camshaft, roller rockers, brand new Holley 600 cfm carb, Edelbrock Performer RPM intake, Hooker Super Comp headers, HEI ignition with Accel Super Coil, Nitrous Express 100-150-200 adjustable plate wet nitrous injection system, Turbo 350 trans with shift kit, custom built driveshaft, 4-core radiator, electric fan, custom dual exhaust designed to emulate the original 240Z exhaust, nice interior no rips in the seats, door panels or headliner, 300ZX wheels with new Pirelli P8000 60 series tires, custom vented front air dam, excellent, straight body with only one minor ding in the hood, rear window louvers and lots more! The frame and floors are nice and rust-free. There is one dime-sized rust spot just ahead of the rear wheel on the driver's side rocker panel, all other body panels are RUST FREE. All the lights, signals, horn, etc work fine and the car is licensed in California thru 2003 Is that a decent daily street/occasional strip set up? Does anyone know anything about this car in particular? Thanks,
Guest Anonymous
$7000.00 is steep ... it was on eBay but I never kept track of the final bid.About every V8 Z on e Bay is posted on here but usually the winning bid is not. Some v8 cars are auctioned multiple times times on e Bay.Looks like $3000.00 to me. Since you found it on E Bay what was the price???? Guest Anonymous
Taed.. This is like pulling hen's teeth Did you buy it after it was offered to you? The car is a "decent set up" Folks here are a little hesistant to critique someonelse's car since we all know what we are shoveling ($) into our projects. You probably cannot build the car for $7000.00. Here is an example I bought a donar car with an Edelbrock performer package SBC 350 for $450.00. Great deal ? No, I detailed the engine like you would see on a car magazine cover for about $400.00, .. and I want to believe that I have common sense. MY engine has smog heads. IF you own it and it is paid for and it runs and comes home every time ..what else could you want?Low ball the price on it, you can always up the offer. Guest Anonymous
Hey Taedium,I noticed your from Everott,I live in Arlington, about a have hour north. As Tomahawk said,It's hard for us to bag on others cars. But since it still belongs to a used car lot(I hope),I will ask a question. If any of us put that much time and $ into a car,why would it end up sitting on a lot if there was'nt something wrong with it.Especially with an NOS bottle.Drive down Aurora sometime and go to one of those hot rod lots and open a hood.If you look close enough you will find why its there.I looked at a twin turbo mustang at detroit iron and found broken spark plugs laying in the engine compartment. Not broken by a the installer, but by the engine.I dont know how you are mechanically,But I have seen many v8Z's for sale in this area in various stages of completion for half the price.Try a place in Clearview called Z specailties.they have a pen of cars there, and I have seen a v8 or 2 there. They have a website. Also, check the NWDE (northwest datsun enthusiests)classifieds,I bought my 76 280 minus engine for 200.00 there.I will email you anything I come across in the area,if you send me your Email.mine is bad660zz@aol. P.S. If you already bought it,forget all that bad stuff I said.
Guest Taedium
thanks guys for the replys, I'll let you know how it turns out, if I buy it ect.. berZerker thanks for the advice, I've looked at Z specialties about a week ago, really nice guy, but there was only one V8 Z in his pen and it was in pretty sad shape, It had a scarab install that was done very poorly, the fan was mounted all wrong, the alternator was the original nissan, the can hadnt run for 3 years, bad starter or flywheel, he wanted 4200 for it! I've looked at a few other places here locally but with out much luck, most have been it pretty bad condition. I'm running out of time to find a car, I sold my old car and am just borrowing one for now. Anyway, we should talk, my E-mail is taedium_@hotmail.com What kind of a set up are you running?
