My hood cable had snapped through all but three wires of the cable, so closing the hood was absolutely out of the question. I'd hate to think what a pain in the butt it would be to get the hood open without unlatching it! None of my Z connections could get me one quickly, so I bopped on down to the junkyard and looked around for a while. The cable from a first generation RX-7 fits just fine. The handle is a little larger so it's more comfortable to pull, but it's not so big it looks out of place. Thought this might be helpful to someone.
