Guest jwmaxse
Hopefully someone on here can help me with this. I just bought an '88 300zx turbo that keeps dying. The car dies sporatically while driving it and is gradually getting worse. Sometimes it will start right up after waiting a few minutes, other times it takes a few days. Now it pretty much dies w/in a few minutes of starting it. I checked for spark after it died and it doesn't always get spark from the wire that comes directly from the coil to the cap. I've since replaced the coil, ignition module, cap and rotor, and the plug wire that comes from the coil and it still isn't consistent. Could the distributor or the crank angle sensor be the problem? I was under the impression that since the spark wasn't making it to the cap that it ruled out the problem being the distributer or CAS. Is this true, or could the CAS keep the computer from sending spark to the cap? The computer does throw a code 11 but I don't know how accurate these ECU's are in diagnosing problems.
