KraZeeZX
After reading that post below, and thinking most of it was greek since I didn't understand half of it lol, I'm curious as to wether or not my starter will work. Will the starter from my 1991 300zx NA work for the LS1 i'm swapping in? Just wondering so I can finalize my parts list! Thanks guys! -Vann
Guest Anonymous
The auxillary hand starting crank found behind the back seat on a 1966 Datsun pick-up(yes, hand cranks to start engines came standard on the first Datsun pick-ups) would stand a better chance of starting that SBC than your Nissan starter. I do not want to think about the costs associated with the smaller GM starter to crank my SBC. Hybrid costs are never finalized until you sell your efforts.(the front gravel pan below the front bumper and crank pulley were both bored and slotted to accept the hand crank to start the 1200 cc engine. I started the engine on a few occasions with the hand crank out of curiosity)
KraZeeZX
I was curious since people were relating the starter to engine compression. Oh well, guess I just added one more purchase on to my list! Thanks for the info! Maybe I'd better keep a hand crank in the truck just for good measure.
