Guest 305240
I can't seem to get any answers on this. I've also searched archives and manuals, along with wiring diagrams. I have the complete underhood wiring setup for the 82 5.0 stang. The wire going to the ignition calls for a resistor wire. Nowhere can I find what size or length wire it takes. I know there is a difference in length. Would I do better with a regular ballast resistor? And if so, what size. Which car can I get one off of? I know you are the man when it comes to this kind of stuff. Thanks again.
Capt_Zorro
305240, Don't know about "being the man", just have a lot of time on my hands to search the web and years of "wasteing my time" as my Father used to say. All you need is a ballast resistor 1.2 ohms is what the duraspark wiring diagram calls for. Jason Fletcher's webpage has a lot of good info on Ford applications. http://www.jason.fletcher.net/tech/duraspark/duraspark.htm You can get one at the auto parts or I got one with the wiring harness from an old Duraspark dist. when I picked it up in the junkyard. They are starting to get difficult to find around here. Adios Amigos,
