Guest Anonymous
Do a "search function" Here is the first documented thread and the fellows doing it with pictures. You might email them for help. Go to Forum Home, Select the Chevy V8 Tech Board. Go back to November 26,2002. Find "V8 Z 31 Project Started" by Darthmentos

Guest Darthmentos
We've actually gotten the engine bay painted and are sending the engine and transmission to a friend that runs a garage locally to inspect everything and completely dissasemble/reassemble/overhaul the 5 speed on monday. If we're stuck with the V-6 5-speed type for the moment better at least make sure it has all it's teeth. To answer your Questions, Yes it will fit, no there isn't a kit. The factory frame horns for the engine mount are already at a good location. I see a minimum amount of hacking and welding to make my "flat plate" mounts work. You will have to fabricate your own engine and transmission mounts. Buy a welder, Its a lot cheaper than having someone shoot the welds for you. Yes you can use stock 300ZX temp/oil press/ and starter wiring. You also can use the stock radiator in mild applications, but will have to be more creative for hotter engines. Some guy in here used a pair of heater cores hidden under his front fascia. Now if I can just staple SteveR to his computer we might get some pics on here of the angine bay cleanup and paint. Guest SteveR
Yeah, I've got some new pics, before and after cleanup. No pics of paint though. Needs another coat anyways... Maybe if I get bored enough, I'll post em tonight. Oh yeah, Darth, remember that guy that came into the store claiming that Darius's 240 used to be his... I checked the site that he claims is a video of him driving it. lol It's same video of Darius that everyone knows! He was a cool guy though, and seems to know some stuff about Zs. A bit odd, though...
