Guest Anonymous
Just curious how much room there is under the hood of a stock z between the hood and the top of a (typical) intake manifold on the V8 conversions. For those who don't recognize the name I am the fool contemplating a jag V12 in a Z, but I could forgo the V12 for a nice SBC with 4 2bbl webbers. I just have to be unique..... Guest Phil1934
I'm doing a SBC with 4 H/W 32/36's. What is really needed is the distance from the bottom of the intake to the hood front and rear.
Chaparral2f
I wanted to run Webers on my 350, but found that the manifold and carbs would cost slightly more than the entire budget for a small third world country . that's why I am planning Hilborn stack injection later this summer. If I could afford a Weber setup, I'd let them come up through the hood. If ya got it flaunt it.
Guest Anonymous
Fellows, I may be wrong since my application is a Tomahawk with scoop but I would venture an estimate of 7 inches from the top of an Edelbrock manifold.... any one else ?????? the distance of a AFB carb and a low rise air filter and cover. The JTR manual shows a conversion with a SBC conversion and stock 4 bbl and air cleaner
Guest Drewz
Befor eI went nuts on my car I was running a stealth dual plane and a 715 holley with air the average chrome air cleaner and it had about 3/4 inch to spare. I am running a dual 4 barrel low rise so if I measured it now it probably wouldn't help much.
