Guest mescalinedreamz
I just bought a 240z with no front turn signals hooked up. So im searching the wires up there with a test light. I turned the left turn signal switch on and tested a yellow with white tracer wire. It started the test light blinking. I then had the wife turn on the right turn signal and accidently left the test light on the yellow/white wire for a sec and it started blinking with the right on too? So i have this wire and have a haynes manual that says nothing about a yellow/white wire for turn signals. Its a 73 240z. Why is this wire blinking when both turn signals are on? CruxGNZ
Looking in my Factory Service Manual (FSM) for the 240Z, the only yellow/white wire(s) in the engine bay would be going from the oil pressure sender and the thermal coupler (?) to thier respective gauges. I have no idea why those would be flashing. Acording to the FSM, here is the wires for the turn signals. There is three wires to each side: Drivers side turn signal and parking light -Green/Blue -Green/Red -Black Passenger side turn signal and parking light -Green/Black -Green/Blue -Black Hope this helps you out. !M! Guest mescalinedreamz
my haynes manual shows me the same thing, i didnt get a chance to check all the wires, just any that were getting power when the signal was on. There are a couple more cut off in the harness that i need to take out to check. Maybe that explains why i dont have my water temp hooked up! But this system has haltech in it and i just bought the car. So im finding all the bugs. I just failed to notice the YW wire in the haynes manual until about 10 secs before you replied. I decided to give it another look. Thanks for your help!. The YW is also hooked to the tach in the diagram. The tach isnt hooked up either. He does have a 3 wire tach hooked up though, but one wire came off and he cant find it. Still more bugs!
