New engine project for the Winter

I have been running a .040 over 327 with 462 heads, mildly ported, roller rockers and a GM 350 hp 327 cam. Edelbrock Air Gap RPM manifold and a Holley 600. I have enjoyed this motor for about 2,000 miles.

I bought a Camaro project car and decided to pull the 327 from the Z and put it in the Camaro. The wife wasn't too happy about the garage being occupied with another project, so to get her really miffed, I decided to build a 383 for the Z.

I go a hold of a 383 short block with a spun rod bearing. Its a GM 010 4 bolt casting that was.040 over. I just got it back from the shop, it is now .060 over. I am using the GM 5.7 rods, Keith Black pistons, Sealed Powere Rings, a new crank, flex plate and damper that was balanced by the shop. I am using Federal Mogul type A bearings. I bought a set of World Products 53 cc Motown heads and Comp Cams.504/.498 with

247/254 duration @.050 lift solid lifter cam kit and Crane 1.5 roller rockers. I am topping it off with a Weiand X-cellerator manifold and Holley 750 dp. Dek TOp Dyno says that this combo will produce a theoretical 473 hp at 6000 rpm and 459 ft/lbs at 5000.

Th UPS guy stops by every day with a delivery. The wife keeps aking whats up. I guess I had better hid the vredit card bill!
