Guest 77vegasz
I am building a 383, and a friend gave me an oil pan he used on a circle track car. It has a built in windage tray, crank scraper and a trap door in the sump area. It was free and is in excellent shape. I would like to use it, but I am unfamilliar with this set up and wonder if there would be any issues with using this on a street/occasional strip car? jt1
I don't think you will have a problem. It will not be optimum, since the baffles and trap door are set up for left hand turns, but it will be better than a pan with no baffles or doors. If it has kick outs, they can get real tight with the exhaust on a V8 Z. John
DavyZ
Ditto on what Jon just said and check the height of the pan--is it similar to stock? You don't want too much hanging down, especially with a lowered Z car. This topic has come up a number of times. Pete Paraska and Mike Kelly have searched for the 'ultimate' pan. I think Pete eneded up with a Canton pan for a Corvette. If you search, you may find it. David
