Guest TBroZ
2.0 thousand dollars. Buying it without knowing what the motor was like...I figured it was still a good deal even if I had to replace the motor. Turns out the motor's running, and though it had a sticky lifter making lots of noise, after running it for a few minutes the second time, it unstuck! I still need to change the oil, and put in some Rislen...I think it could still be quieter. It's a long way from some of the gorgeous LT1 machines I've seen...but maybe someday. For now, I'm going to get a T5 ($500), an R200 ($150), probably a Quaife LSD ($1,300) and have a BeastZ for $4K. Another $3K in paint, rims, tires, and spoilers and I'll have a sweet ride for $7K. Guest Anonymous
TBro that lifter will probably loosen up. Give it a chance and it can be replaced.. Do a compression on that motor.Find out more about the engine.Every Scarab 327 Z deserves a Muncie 4 speed
Guest TBroZ
Tomahawk - Why do you say "deserves" a Muncie 4 spd? I know they're strong, but I need the OD. Terry
Heavy Z
If you do go the T5 route, look for '88+ camaro applications, pre-88 are weaker non-world class units.
