niceguy678us
My daily driver is a 90 chevrolet full size extended cab pickup. It has the throttlebody injection system. I have gone through the entire motor, tranny, and rear end, and all I can say is it has been very reliable, as well as powerful. I have: 1.stock throttle body housing 2.bigger injectors (from the caprice police interceptor package) 3.adjustable internals for the throttle body 4.Helix bore throttle body spacer(from Jegs) 5.Edelbrock performer intake(made for the GM TB) Now this is only one stage of upgrading, since it is my daily driver. And I selected those particular injectors to match my cam/engine setup. (have many more mods, but trying to limit this speech to the intake setup) You can do a lot more with the system. There are aftermarket big bore throttle bodies that are made to bolt up and go, and also bigger injectors you can use (454SS truck injectors will fit also and dump MUCHO fuel!!)But one thing you have to remember is you have to get a chip made/burned for your specific combo if you are going to retain the stock management system. I had mine made for just under $400, but I can say that there is NO headache, and NO worries about jumping in my truck and driving wherever I want to, this has been a VERY reliable setup (for me). The throttle is very responsive/sensitive, and makes for some very interesting stoplight action,LOL. I like the fact that I retained all (readily available) stock parts, such as sensors, injectors and whatnot, makes for cheap and easy repairs. So to further answer your question, I have nothing but good to say about the GM throttle body injection system.
