Guest tt350
Hey all I know this isnt entirely related to Z's and im sorry, but I am thinkin of buying this supercharger. My freind bought a 1993 M3 with an Albrex 1080 supercharger and its intercooled. Much more than that, i dont know. It puts down power, but im not sure how much. Anyone here have experience with these superchargers? Hes claiming around 300. But i did see a problem (im not sure if it is one). He installed a boost gauge, and the thing is always running on the vacuum side, hitting 20 all the time. When he gases it, the boost goes up to zero or one psi, then stops. Is this normal? Or is the boost gauge hooked up wrong?
Guest Cronic
Sounds like the guage is hooked up to an area of the vaccum source that has a check valve in front of it, preventing boost to come through. Try another vacuum source in teh intake manifold.
Guest bastaad525
yeah you should definately be seeing boost on the boost gauge just like a turbo. Actually depending on the kind of supercharger (I think with the screw kind) you should be seeing boost almost as soon as you touch the throttle, unlike a turbo having to build up to it.
