why stop at a smallblock whahahaha <--manical laugh p.s you DO need nearly twice as much fuel its in the air:fuel ratio and ALL the tuneing books. the alky car probably dident have to lean on the motor as hard or was better tuned hence the fuel saving who knows..

p.p.s 6-71's look so nice ontop of rodeks

Well after ALOT of research and discussion Methanol is out due to the hassle and no real cost savings. So I'm left with either lowering the compression ratio to run pump gas or leaving it at a 14:1 compression ratio and running race gas, say 110 to 114 octane?

Input here folks!

Should I keep the motor at 14:1 and run race gas?

or

Lower the compression and run NOS?

Either way I know it will cost me money!

Mark,

I think Mike D is running 11:1 compression with his Chevy motor and I have never heard him complain of detonation using pump gas. I hope Mike steps in here if I'm totally wrong about it, but that's what I think he is running right now.

Do you think that the loss in power by lowering the compression is going to make it not worth your while? The power numbers you are looking at are insane for your car anyway :D is not really a bad thing.
