Analog 280z to Digital zx clock swap

Posted this on zcar.com and didn't get what I needed...

I pulled a '81 280zx digital clock (the quartz one with the lap timer) from the J/Y. I don't know where the wires are supposed to go... There are four wires comming out of the back of the clock: solid black, blue with red stripe, green with white stripe, blue with white stripe. Where do I have to hook these wires up so it will work... (in a 280z) I'm guessing one has to go to ground, one to switched power and one to continuous power and IDK about the other one. I don't want to fry the clock by running it the wrong way... Please help.... thanks. (anyone with detailed zx wiring diagrams??)

Most likely, one is for the ground. That would be black unless they were crazy when making the thing.

The other three would be for unswitched power, switched, and probably the third is the dimmer for when you turn on the lights at night, it dims the brightness down a little.

If you keep the ground grounded, you can play with the other three. Attempt putting power to each one alone, then if that don't work, try all three at once and remove one at a time. As you remove one, it should get brighter (there's your dimmer) another would turn it off... that should be your switched 12v. The last would make it reset each time, there's your constant 12v.

I've never done this with that clock, but its worked on others.
