Guest 83supaZ
do you guys think bedliner will work good as an undercoating? like herculiner or something. seems to me it would work great.
Guest DiZeased_240
Yep it does and lasts much longer than the rubberized undercoating in spray cans. I will never use that junk again. Just make sure you also have a coat of paint between the bedliner and the bare metal. You will have to scuff the paint before applying the liner. Guest 83supaZ
what did you use to get yours off? lol some of mine is actually still rubber... didnt crack and isnt brittle. the brittle stuff is easy to scrape off.. i've got a chain around the front crossbrace and used my 8ft home made engine hoist to lift the entire front of the car up (car minus the engine) wheel well is eye level.. tires are off.. also took front fenders off.. no rust will hide from me! any places you guys found that could be over looked that is bad for rust? MY260Z
I did mine while it was on a home made rotiserrie. That way it doesn't drip everywhere. I did the interior as well. The old stuff broke off in good size pieces. For the rest, I used my angle grinder with a wire wheel.
Guest DiZeased_240
I haven't removed the old undercoating from my 240 yet. I used the bedliner on my '48 chevy streetrod. I sandblasted the entire underside so there was nothing but bare metal. It's doing well so I going to use the same process on my Z.
