Guest tony78_280z
I took out my carpets (Walmart $16.00) to wash them in the machine and yes they came clean and went back in wonderfully. But while they were out I noticed my floorpan is starting too look bad particularly on the drivers side. At the seam by the door it has rusted out and will probably not be more than another winter before major work is going to be needed. Should I simply cut and weld (The horror!! as I have next to no skill but do have an aged welder in the farm shop) then paint/under-coat, or invest in something a bit more technical? Has anyone used POR15's floorpan repair kit and if so did they have any luck. AND Is it possible to get some of the materials from different and cheaper sorces? IF say I happend to have some Marine Clean, Metal Ready and POR-15 Silver, then could I pick up the other materials at local hardward stores for less than $120.00. What is this Power Mesh Fabric they mention? Epoxy Putty? and what are grueling and time consuming processes in the instructions that are included. I KNOW, I should be asking POR15 about this questions but I'm wondering if any of you all have had any luck with this particular kit. I did use thier gas tank repair kit with sucess. (after having it boiled out 3 tmies) It was alot of hard and time consuming work, but I think it worked out pretty good and should never have to worry about rust and gunk in my tank,.. and It'll never get a rust hole in it. The kit on their webpage contains the following for 120.00... MARINE-CLEAN™ Metal cleaner METAL-READY™ Metal Prep Power Mesh Fabric POR-15® Silver POR-15® Black EPOXY PUTTY CHASSISCOAT BLACK™ POR-15 SOLVENT® All brushes needed (4) Safety face mask Latex gloves Dispensing scoop Detailed instructions THANKS -T
