Guest butlersZ
Hey guys, Does having a smaller or larger overall wheel/tire diameter affect the handling of the Z? In example like having a Z with 15" and low pro's and then putting on 17" with low pro's, I know the larger wheel will turn slower, but does the slower rotational speed of the larger wheel/tire combo affect handling? Savage42
It's all about rotating mass and unsprung weight, neither of which is a good thing in regards to performance and/or acceleration. Ride quality will definitely go down with 17s. The main difference will be steering response, but overall handling isn't determined by just the wheel & tire combo. Suspension & handling work as a unit, so any changes with wheels will change what spring rate works the best, shock valving, sway bar size, camber & toe, etc. How's that for an answer?
